K/N Typhoon Air Intake
07-09 Mazdaspeed 3

K&N has developed a Typhoon Intake Kit (K&N 69-6011TS) for the 2007-2009 Mazdaspeed 3 (2.3 liter turbo) application. K&N's dynamometer tests (not confirmed by Racing Beat) shows a stout 25.68 increase in power that customers can feel upon acceleration. All K&N Mazdaspeed 3 air intake systems are designed to increase filtering capacity and improve throttle response while providing excellent filtration.

A published dyno chart for 2007 Mazdaspeed 3 shows a 25.68 horsepower gain as measured by K&N.

As air passes through the K&N air filter (RU-4960), it accelerated down a silver-colored powder coated aluminum tube which is attached to the throttle body. The K&N air intake filters are washable and reusable and be used up to 100,000 miles before cleaning is required. (However, we suggest you clean the filter when it shows obvious signs of becoming dirty, which is dependent on your driving conditions.) The filter is protected from engine heat by a powder-coated heat shield. The placement of the K&N air intake system ensures a steady amount of outside air to the engine which translates into more power.

The Mazdaspeed 3 intake kit utilizes a CNC-machined mass air sensor adaptor to ensure that the sensor will function correctly with the factory stock settings. There is no need for ECU re-programming or a piggy-back engine management system for use with the K&N air intake system.

It takes 90 minutes or less to install this K&N Mazdaspeed 3 air intake system is backed by the famous K&N Million Mile Limited Warranty.

Emissions Legal
Included with this kit is a critical component that is definitely NOT found on the majority of cheap import intakes for the MazdaSpeed 3! What is it you ask? This intake kit has been awarded an emissions exemption by the State of California and is considered to be in compliance with the emissions laws. If you are a resident of California (or another state that has adopted the CA emissions laws), you are required to have proof-of-compliance for any emissions sensitive aftermarket product installed on your car during the required tail-pipe emissions check. Without this exemption, your car will fail the test! K&N has undertaken the testing required by the California Air Resources Board (CARB) and has successfully proven that this intake kit is in compliance with the emissions regulations.
