We offer the KONI Sport Series (8041 1203 Sport) of externally adjustable front shock absorbers for 1990-97 Miata enthusiasts desiring both improved road holding performance and the additional feature of ride height adjustability. These Koni Miata shocks offer three ride height positions, stock, Miata Type R (1/4-inch lower) and Sport (which is approx.7/8-inch lower in front, and approx. 1/2-inch lower in the rear). Make your ride height selection prior to installing the shocks by adjusting the position of the lower spring perch on the shock body. These gas-filled shocks include a large removable knob that allows for quick, simple rebound adjustments by rotating the knob. See detail photos above.

What is the best adjustment setting for your new Koni Miata shocks? We're often asked where the "correct" position is to set your initial adjustment. We've discovered that there is no single best adjustment setting for your Koni's because every driver has different preferences for comfort and performance based upon many factors. For most vehicles, Koni suggests that new shocks be installed in the full soft position (the standard setting right out of the box) to take advantage of the balance of ride comfort and handling designed by the KONI ride development engineers. If the car has performance upgrades (springs, wheel/tire packages, etc.) or the driver wants the car a bit more aggressive, most people find the optimum setting in the 1/2 to one full turn from the full soft range.

These shocks are suitable for use on cars equipped with anti-lock brakes (ABS). Parts indicated apply to all 1990-97 Miatas.
