We offer the KONI Sport Series (8041 1251 Sport) series of externally adjustable front shock absorbers for 1999-2005 Miata enthusiasts desiring both improved road holding performance. These gas-filled shocks include a large removable knob that allows for quick, simple "dialed in" rebound adjustments. (These shocks feature a single-perch setting and unlike the 1990-97 models, are not ride-height adjustable.)

What is the best adjustment setting for your new shocks? There is no single best adjustment setting for your KONl's because every driver has different preferences for comfort, performance, performance modifications and roads to drive on. For most vehicles, KONI suggests that new shocks be installed in the full soft position (the standard setting right out of the box) to take advantage of the balance of ride comfort and handling designed by the KONI ride development engineers. If the car has performance upgrades (springs, wheel/tire packages, etc.) or the driver wants the car a bit more aggressive, most people find the optimum setting in the 1/2 to one full turn from the full soft range.

These shocks were installed on the Racing Beat 1999 Miata that was used in the Car and Driver (March 2000) and the Sport Compact Car Magazine (April 2000 - Eight Great Rides Edition). During our tuning sessions prior to these articles, we found an immediate improvement in handling performance after the installation of these shocks.
