On September 12, 2004, Racing Beat hosted our third consecutive "the day after Sevenstock" Open House event. Judging by the 700 free hotdogs and drinks consumed, and the 400+ raffle cards that were completed, we estimate that we had between 400-500 rotary enthusiasts in attendance!

Events started with a guided tour of the Racing Beat administration and warehouse building, and the opening of the first-ever Bargain Bin Table. The lunchcrew started turning out hot dogs and nachos around 11:00 and didn't stop until they ran out. Meanwhile, down at the production building, tech talks and dyno sessions hosted by Racing Beat's chief engineer, Jim Mederer, offered interesting facts about the ongoing development of the RX-8 and the Renesis engine.

On display were illustrations of the initial design work that went into the new Racing Beat RX-8 body kit that was debuted the day before at the Sevenstock event. Greg Woo from Power Slot Brakes was on hand to answer questions about brake upgrades for specific Mazda applications.

Special guests from Mazda were in attendance, included famed Mazda legend "Koby" Kobyakawa, and Mr. Bunzo Suzuki. The day ended with the much anticipated raffle with prizes from Racing Beat, Royal Purple, Power Slot Brakes, and Falken TIres.
