1978 Bonneville Land Speed Record RX-7 - NGK Version - Vintage Racing Poster - Autographed by Don Sherman
During a clean up of the Racing Beat shop area we uncovered a collection of original racing posters from the 1978 Bonneville Land Speed Record attempt. These posters have been stored in a flat box and have never been folded or rolled. (These posters are NOT a reproduction.) Click here to see a larger version of this poster. As an added bonus, Don Sherman, noted automotive journalist and race car driver, has personally autographed all remaining copies of these posters!
These one-of-a-kind posters have been out of circulation for many years and can be extremely difficult to find? particularly in this condition! Now for the first time ever, we have decided to offer a very limited number of these posters for sale. If you are a die-hard RX-7 fan, this is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to grab a piece of "rotary" racing history!
After setting a land speed record on an earlier attempt with the Car & Driver RX-3 project, Racing Beat returned to Bonneville in 1978 with a purpose-built RX-7. A successful two-run average of over 183 MPH set a land speed record that still stands today! This poster was issued by Japanese spark plug manufacturer NGK to commemorate this successful project.
As a bonus, you can have your poster autographed by Racing Beat's founder's, Mr. Jim Mederer and Mr. Takayuki Oku. Jim Mederer, Racing Beat's chief engineering and fabricator, has continued to spearhead the development of many championship "rotary" efforts over the years. Joined by his "behind-the scenes" partner Mr. Oku, this dynamic team has continued to develop Mazda-based racing and performance projects for over thirty years. If you're interested in having these signatures added to your poster, give us a call to place your order.
We are offering this 20.1875" x 28.625" poster at the collector's price of $32.00, plus shipping and handling. Each poster will be secured in a shipping tube and sent via UPS. To order an autographed copy of this poster, please contact us a 714-779-8677.
(Note: Although all of the posters that we are offering are "new", some may have very slight imperfections or edge dis-colorization due to aging.)
