EXEDY Stage 1 HD Complete Clutch Kit (Heavy Duty)
 The 1987-91 RX-7 Turbo II  (EXEDY 10803AHD) clutch kit is recommended for Street or Autocross use on higher horsepower applications.

Exedy/Daikin Clutch  is one world's largest suppliers of both stock OEM and performance aftermarket clutch components. This complete Exedy Stage 1 HD clutch kit for the RX-7 Turbo II includes: a sprung hub, organic compound disc (240 mm OD), upgraded pressure plate, replacement throw out bearing, pilot bearing, and clutch installation alignment tool. This complete kit is ideally suited for modified Turbo II chassis and the drivability characteristics of the organic material disc are similar to the stock clutch.

Increased pressure plate clamping loads provide the necessary capacity to handle the performance demands of modified engines and spirited driving. Pedal loads for the EXEDY Complete Clutch Kit Stage 1 HD will be noticeably higher because of the increased clamping load as compared with the Stage 1 kit. All Exedy discs feature a sprung-hub center to reduce drive train shock and to ease clutch engagement.

Exedy Application Guide

 Racing Beat offers different clutch packages for the 1987-91 Turbo II, each intended for a specific application. Use this reference guide to determine the package that best meets your requirements:

 Exedy Stage 1 - This is the preferred clutch for street and light horsepower track use. Driveability is similar to the stock clutch with smooth engagement characteristics. Pedal efforts will be slightly higher due to the approx 25% higher clamp loads. The clutch disc is equipped with spring center dampers to reduce drivetrain shock. Rated wheel torque - 237 ft/lbs.

 Exedy Stage 1 HD – The Heavy Duty (HD) clutch package features the exact same disc as the Stage 1 package, but this kit is equipped with a more aggressive pressure plate for use with higher horsepower applications. This pressure plate offers higher clamping forces and pedal efforts will be greater due to the approx. 40% higher clamping loads as compared with the stock pressure plate. The clutch disc is equipped with spring center dampers to reduce drivetrain shock. Rated wheel torque - 296 ft/lbs.  

Exedy Stage 2 – This kit features a low-inertia cerametallic disc with a sprung hub center for use on ”street/strip/weekend racer” applications. These components are intended to handle the abuse of higher-powered modified engines and can typically handle more abuse than stock-type disc assemblies without slipping and fading. The sprung hub center offers ease of engagement vibrations at idle and during acceleration/deceleration. Clutch engagement is very abrupt and best suited for use in racing and high performance driving applications – not recommended for street use. Rated wheel torque - 269 ft/lbs.

Exedy Stage 2 HD – The Heavy Duty (HD) clutch package features the exact same disc as the Stage 2 package, but this kit is equipped with a more aggressive pressure plate for use with higher horsepower applications. This pressure plate offers higher clamping forces and pedal efforts will be greater due to the approx. 14% higher clamping loads as compared with the Stage 2 pressure plate. The sprung hub center offers ease of engagement vibrations at idle and during acceleration/deceleration. Clutch engagement is very abrupt and best suited for use in racing and high performance driving applications – not recommended for street use. Rated wheel torque - 337 ft/lbs.
