The Racing Beat REN.V3 Ported Engine RX-8 PCM Flash* is recommended for use on ported 13B Renesis engines utilizing modest peripheral changes (exhaust, intake air box, etc..) but is not intended for use on supercharged or turbocharged engines. This PCM flash was optimized on an engine that was ported using the Racing Beat Renesis Porting Templates.

Although this PCM flash version was developed on the Racing Beat engine dyno using a Renesis engine that included a Racing Beat intake, exhaust, header and ignition wires, we expect the REN.V3 PCM Flash to provide similar performance gains on vehicles using stock or similar aftermarket components. However, your exact results will depend on the specific combination of components that are used.
During further testing, we discovered additional performance gains with the REN.V3 PCM flash after the installation of a catalytic converter replacement pipe and the Racing Beat Race Exhaust system. After installation of these components our research found that no significant fuel mixture changes were necessary, thus we only offer one flash version for ported engines for all configurations. For full performance details, review the REN.V3 PCM Flash Dyno Sheet.
During development of the REN.V3 Ported Engine PCM Flash we optimized fuel mixture, initiated an earlier start of the cooling fans, increased the REV limit to 9500 RPM, and changed the operating points for the intake 6-ports and the Variable Dynamic Effect Intake-Air (VDI) valve. (See dyno sheet.) These improved features are included with each flash version.

Flash Process and Procedure
This flash service is performed on YOUR PCM unit. Each RX-8 PCM unit has been programmed for each specific chassis and is intended to communicate with the security "immobilization" system. For this reason we do not offer a PCM "trade-in" service, we MUST flash the PCM unit that came equipped with your car. (The immobilization information is retained during the Racing Beat PCM flash and is not overwritten.)
It also assumes that all vehicle systems are operating as Mazda intended (no "check engine" light). The Racing Beat flash will not "fix" any problem that already exists with your vehicle. If there is any other problem with the engine (or the PCM, for that matter), your performance results will be different from ours.

If a Mazda dealer flashes the PCM the Racing Beat flash will NOT be retained. When leaving your car with a Mazda dealer, if there is any possibility that the dealer might have reason to flash the PCM, inform the dealer that you are satisfied with the current flash. If the dealer were to flash your PCM (thereby replacing the Racing Beat programming on it), we would flash your PCM for 50% of the current flash price. (Depending on availability of service and programming.) Your dealer will not be aware of the Racing Beat flash - except indirectly through the fan "on" temps, higher red line, or the extra power.
