KYB GR-2 strut inserts for the 1979-80 RX-7 are designed to restore ride quality and comfort to original levels while also improving handling and cornering performance. KYB GR-2/Excel-G struts for the early RX-7 application are an ideal strut for car owners looking to replace old, worn original or aftermarket units. The GR-2/Excel-G struts and shocks have been specially tuned for the RX-7 to restore ride quality to match the original feel and ride comfort initially offered by the Mazda OE shocks, with build quality that meets or exceeds OE specs. A great replacement shock for everyday driving at a very reasonable price. Priced and sold individually - two (2) required per vehicle.

Racing Beat Notes:
As demand for the early 79-80 RX-7 struts has declined, so have the available aftermarket versions. We're not aware of any "performance" units for this earlier application still being offered. While the 79-80 and 81-85 12A struts appear to be similar, they are NOT interchangeable due to the slightly longer length of the 79-80 strut body.
