Standard Bridge Intake Porting (except 6-port intakes) and Side Housing Resurfacing Services by Racing Beat - Racing Beat offers both our resurfacing and intake porting services as a convenience to our customers. Price includes porting labor and resurfacing charges for all three housings. Read details regarding these services as follows:

Bridge Intake Porting is a race porting technique that involves adding a second port alongside the main port. The bridge between the ports is left so that the corner seals and apex seals will be held in position as they pass by this area. The modification adds approximately 150 degrees of intake duration and overlap for increased high-RPM power. Depending on the intake system, such porting commonly peaks in power at over 9,000 RPM. Two versions of this porting are available: Standard Bridge Porting and J Bridge Porting. The difference between them is that the J Bridge has a larger bridge port for improved high-RPM flow, and therefore requires that the water O-ring be cut.

The Bridge Intake Port/Rotor Housing Match process must be performed on the rotor housings whenever our Bridge Intake Port is used. This modification cuts "notches" in the edges of a pair of rotor housings to allow the Bridge Port to operate effectively. Two different models of the matching process are available to suit the Bridge Port style. See the listing for "Standard Bridge Port/Housing Match" (PN 11420) for pricing details.

Side Housing Resurfacing (Lapping) - When rebuilding your engine it is highly recommended that you resurface the side housings if the level of wear permits. We recommend removing no more than .002-inch of material from each side of the 1986-95 housing surfaces to maintain the integrity of the O-ring grooves. With the 1971-85 housings we can remove material to the following minimum thicknesses: Front Housing 1.568-inch; Intermediate Housing 1.955-inch; Rear Housing 2.355-inch.

Our resurfacing process utilizes a lapping table and an optical-grade polishing compound to produce a surface finish that exceeds even the factory finish. The superiority of this lapping process well exceeds what is generally available through surface grinding operations.

These services are performed at Racing Beat's production facility in Anaheim, California. Prices listed are for labor charges only. Return shipment freight charges are not included in the listed price.
